IRS vs. American People

The most feared and powerful arm of the U.S. government is the IRS.  Some would argure the U.S. Military is the most powerful and in many respects that is correct, however, the IRS is the most feared and powerful arm of the government as it relates to the United States Citizens.  The U.S. Military is feared around the world, as it should be, but it is not feared at home.  The IRS wields tremendous power against the citizens and they shudder when the IRS comes after them.

The average American collecting mail feels a cold shiver when they come across a letter addressed to them and marked from the IRS.  The threat of an audit, bank account seizure, penalties, and interest are real possibilities if you cross the IRS or do not line up with their philosophy.  The IRS has the ability to shut down the voices of those it does not agree with.  A good case in point is the scandal that has been uncovered where the IRS was stonewalling, discouraging, threatening, and overwhelming various conservative and religious groups it has deemed incorrect in their ideas and standards.  It is reported, individuals vocal in opposition to the current administration are harassed and singled out for audit or more scrutiny.  This is intimidating and very expensive to those targeted.  Almost without exception, those targeted by the IRS are of an opposing political party to the one currently in power. 

This practice started in 2010 after the mid-term election.  Voters let their voices be heard when they voted out those responsible for driving up debt and forcing government healthcare on everyone. The IRS targets those voters now, and the IRS will enforce the new healthcare laws and impose penalties on those who do not comply later.

It is time for every citizen, no matter what political affiliation, to take note and commit to seeing this over reach of power stop.  They may be targeting conservatives today but it could be others tomorrow.  Our government is by the people and it is time the people took back control.  Now is the time to get informed and get involved.  What is happening is evil and it must stop.  There was a time when our founding fathers said, “Give me liberty or give me death.”  If we do nothing tyranny will prevail and personal freedom and liberty will die.
